Safety

Candle beads are safer than traditional candles for two reasons:

  1. They self-extinguish when accidentally tipped over, the mess is easier to clean than traditional candle wax!
  2. Since the wick is designed to not reach the bottom of the container, it also self-extinguishes when it reaches the end of the wick without heating up the container.

It's REAL FIRE, so please read and abide by the safety precautions. Use at your own risk and with caution!

There are several safety measures to keep in mind when using any candle:

  1. Keep candles away from flammable materials such as curtains, paper, and other decorations.
  2. Don't leave burning candles unattended. Extinguish candles when you leave the room or go to sleep.
  3. Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.
  4. Trim the wick to about 5-6mm before lighting the candle. This will help the candle burn more safely and evenly.
  5. Use a candle holder that is sturdy, non-flammable, and large enough to contain any dripping wax.
  6. Don't burn a candle all the way down. Extinguish the flame if it comes too close to the holder or container.
  7. Don't use candles as a light source during a power outage. It is safer to use flashlights or battery-powered lanterns.
  8. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for proper use and handling of the candle.

By following these safety tips, you can enjoy using candles without risking accidents or injuries.

Glass vases are recommended, but it's possible to use other containers safely as long as they're big enough. The vessel should be at least 8 cm wide to prevent the wax from sticking to the sides. That way you won't have to clean the vessel afterward and your candle
will always look new and beautiful. Pour Candle Beads into a suitable container Insert the wick leaving out 6mm end Light the candle.

Currently, all our candle beads are unscented. However, you can add your own essential oils or candle fragrance oils to the beads to give them a scent. Please do so at your own risk and comfort level, keeping in mind oils are very flammable and should never be added to a burning candle.

Here's a simple method to do it:

1) Light the wick and let it burn for about 5 minutes until a melt pool forms.

2) Blow out the wick and add a few drops of your favourite scent into the melt pool.

3) Relight the wick.

This way, the scent stays in the melt pool and won't affect the rest of the beads. Start with a few drops and
increase as needed. Candle Beads has a mild scent throw in a small room. It is the user’s responsibility for all modifications made to the candles such as colours and scents.

Candle beads come in various sizes, including 400g, 1kg, and 5kg options. For more detailed information and purchasing options, please visit the iCandles SA Candle Beads collection.

Each wick (7cm) lasts around 14 to 20 hours, and you get 10 wicks with every 400g candle, 40 wicks with every 2.5Kg tub, and 100 wicks (15cm) with every Bulk Bag.

Yes, our beads are plant-based, clean-burning, and pet-friendly. We still recommend keeping them out of reach of pets and children, since they’re technically not edible and burn with real fire, but you'll be glad to know the beads are non-toxic and not expected to be
harmful if a small amount is ingested. You can also take comfort knowing that candle beads self-extinguish if accidentally spilled as the beads smother the flame.

Yes, the candle beads can be reused after burning. Once the wax has cooled and hardened, the hardened wax can be removed. You can add a new wick and continue to use the remaining beads. This allows for minimal waste and extended use of your candle beads.
